The generic ARB cardiologists have prescribed for 30 years — now without the office visit. Blocks angiotensin II to lower blood pressure. In diabetics with kidney disease, slowed progression to dialysis by 16% over 3.4 years (RENAAL trial, NEJM 2001).

driven mostly by a 25% reduction in stroke (Dahlöf et al., Lancet 2002).
16% relative reduction in progression to end-stage renal disease (dialysis or transplant) vs placebo over 3.4 years (RENAAL, NEJM 2001, n=1,513).
No injections. No titration kit. No special storage.
The same molecule cardiologists have written since 1995.
What these trials do not show: losartan is not proven to extend lifespan in healthy people with normal blood pressure. The "longevity" case for ARBs in low-risk adults is extrapolation, not trial data
It squeezes your blood vessels and tells your kidneys to hold onto salt and water. Both raise blood pressure. Losartan blocks the receptor angiotensin II docks onto (the AT1 receptor), so the signal never lands. Vessels relax. Pressure drops. The kidneys get less mechanical stress, which is why it slows kidney damage in diabetics.
Important information about Losartan safety and side effects.
Some effect within 6 hours of the first dose. Full effect at 3–6 weeks. We re-check your BP at 4 weeks and adjust if needed. What dose will I get? Most people start at 50mg once daily. The trial doses were 50–100mg. Your physician picks the starting dose based on your BP, kidney function, and other meds. Will I be on this forever? Probably, if you're taking it for blood pressure or kidney protection. Stopping returns BP to baseline within about a week. This isn't a cleanse. Can I take it with my other meds? Usually yes. Watch-outs: ACE inhibitors (lisinopril, etc.) — don't double up. Spironolactone or potassium supplements — we'll monitor labs. NSAIDs daily — can blunt the kidney benefit. List everything in the intake. What are the actual side effects? From the RENAAL and LIFE trials, the only side effects more common with losartan than placebo were dizziness (~4%) and elevated potassium (~7% in diabetics with kidney disease, much lower in healthy patients). No cough — that's the ACE inhibitor side effect ARBs were designed to avoid. Do you ship to my state? We're licensed in all 50 states plus DC.
